Meet Rob.

I am a people person with a genuine passion for supporting people to reach their goals. My career as a life coach aligns perfectly with my natural interests and the experience I have from a decade of recruitment and consultancy.

I grew up in a Wiltshire market town, and after leaving school at eighteen I found myself working in a DIY shop, craving adventure. I packed my bags and set out for Turkey where I enjoyed two years as a holiday rep, exploring the Mediterranean. I gained valuable life experience, confidence in myself, and a better sense of who I am. I returned to the grey skies and puddled streets of the UK as a new man.

I got my first taste of the corporate world working in finance. The confidence I found abroad helped me develop new and complimentary skills which I took to my next role as a recruitment consultant as a part of a large independent company in Bristol. Here I had my first experience of managing and mentoring the people around me. Helping my colleagues and members of my team flourish by nurturing them to reach their full potential brought me a great deal of joy and satisfaction.

Ten years later I found myself unmotivated, depressed and looking for a new challenge. I took a sabbatical to do some soul searching. What did I want? What played to my strengths? What ignited my passion? As I reevaluated what I was genuinely passionate about the same things kept cropping up: People development!

So, I made the decision to leave my comfortable career to explore coaching professionally. Founding RW Coaching allowed me the opportunity to transform the lives of those people that find themselves looking for more. Be it personal or professional we can move forward together, creating the future you deserve.

To finish off I just wanted to tell you a bit more about myself.

  • Firstly sport! Sport has always been incredibly important for me and a huge release. At some stage I’ve participated in football, squash, snooker, tennis, skiing, triathlon to name just a few.

  • Personal development is a huge part of my life. You’ll often find me listening to audio books and podcasts around mindset, growth, dealing with mental health issues, and coaching of course!

  • Something else I use to calm my mind is music, both listening and playing will always chill me out after a busy and stressful day.

  • Giving back gives me a real buzz. I have completed multiple running and cycles challenges over the years, but my proudest achievement is a sponsored 100 mile walk around my garden. This took five days and raised over £2500 for a local mental health charity. As well as destroying the lawn!
